The Congregatio Jesu(CJ), whose members are commonly known as the Loreto Sisters, is a Roman Catholic religious congregation of women. Who are drawn to companionship in the service of the gospel. Inspired by the Mary Ward’s Charism and the Ignatian Spirituality.
We strive to support the growth in faith and freedom of each person through Spiritual Ministries, Education, Social Ministries, Capacity Development and other works of mercy which meet the needs of our times. We are an active community of women seeking to spread the Gospel as ‘Contemplatives in Action’. Mary Ward (1585 – 1645) founder, an English woman who held a strong conviction “that women in time to come will do much,” continues to inspire and challenge women today. Their presence is felt all over the world as shown at the map below.
After a journey of prayer, reflection, and engagement among their members, the two congregations of apostolic women religious — Congregatio Jesu (CJ) and the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM–Loreto) — officially merged into one congregation. We had our province meeting on the 8th-13th of August. Where important matters were discussed and we thank God for the meeting we had. We pray that may the good Lord continue journeying with us as we put into practice all that we discussed during the meeting.
There will be a perpetual profession ceremony on the 13th of December. We thank God who has journeyed with our sister and we pray that he may continue accompanying her as she continues with her journey of Faith.
We shall have the Silver Jubilee of our two sisters on the 29th of November 2025. We thank God for keeping them in our Institute for the last 25 years. We pray that may the good Lord continue journeying with them as they near their day of celebration.
